General  Federation of Women’s Clubs of Massachusetts Junior Membership MidWinter Meeting

 

             The Hogan Center at Holy Cross College in Worcester was the site of the General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) of Massachusetts Junior Membership MidWinter Meeting on Saturday, January 16. (Insert your club name and town) members joined more than 60 clubwomen in fun and fellowship at several hands-on workshops.   Many hands make light work  was the order of the day as 107 Valentines for Veterans were created; 42 bird feeders were made; 98 Educator Survival kits were assembled for local teachers and 23 Arm Cozies for Operation Smile were sewed.   In addition, members donated 82 Christmas stockings to be used for Boatsie’s Boxes (www.boatsie.com) “a charitable organization dedicated to supporting our troops when they are far from home”.              

             .  Attendees had the opportunity to delivery information about their club’s activities and projects for the year 2009 and to hear about the upcoming plans of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs International.  Director of Junior Clubs, Donna Shibley presided over the meeting.
